The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Design Contest WIN 4000 POINTS, 20$ AND MORE!I've wanted to hold a design contest for a long time now, and finally I've gathered enough points to do it :D

What I'm looking for:
Everything! Wolves, foxes, fennec foxes, ferrets, servals, bobcats, tigers, other big cats, small cats, deers, dragons, gryphons, dogs, birds, hybrids, original species.. bring it!
I'm leaving the details to your imagination, but here are some things I really like:
-White base color with black and red markings<33 (mostly on canines)
-Cute and fluffy things! No need to go all big eyes and oversized heads, but animals with fur. Creepy and slimy things just aren't my thing.. Still don't be afraid to make something dark/evil
-Anything tribal
-Native american stuff
-Feathers!
-Tawny, golden, brown, white, red, blue, cyan, gray, black (well, not all combined)
-I like more natural base colors, but with smaller markings in unnatural colors like blue or red
-Long tails, big/long
Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

I'm back with some updates.

As I still was not able to get in contact with :iconwearmanyhats: and therefore still neither could pay for the print nor know where it ended up, I decided to change plans. I would like to submit the image to the Gargoyles Club. However, there is no activity in the club for over 17 weeks now. Does anyone know what's going on there?

//participants only!// As I do not have the Gathering GGPP print, I cannot offer it for sale. But I can offer you a high resolution version of the pic so you can make a huge print of it yourself. A second try?

Now here is my question: If I would organize a new GGPP, would you join?
There would be a few changes:

=> 1. Every character from the TV show would be allowed (gargoyles, humans, fey, mutates,...), no fan characters this time
=> 2. The coloring style would be decided via poll
=> 3. I would not do a print for the Gathering again. However, if someone else would like to do it, it would be fine with me.
=> 4. I would not organize it alone. I would need two volunteers to become co-organizers.

What do you think?

No fan characters would certainly limit some people. Most would want to do one of the main favorites.

BTW a second try, well... even if there will not be fan chars this time, it still sound like a 'redo' instead of something new. Besides, how about human characters?

No one knows whats going on with the club. I think the person who took it over no longer has the time for it anymore, either. Which is sad, because I'd hate to see such a great club die. =/
