Hi there!

I'm close to my final exams at university and I'm working an a final thesis, which is part of my exam. The topic is the work with animals (especially dogs) in schools in a pedagogic and therapeutic way. I already have some German books and articles but there haven't been real studies about the effects of animals on human health and mind in Germany until now (except for the therapy with horses and dolphins). I heard that in America such effects have been researched and as I need a scientific base for my work I need information about that.
Does anyone of you have books or articles concerning this toppic? Or do you know webpages about it? Can you give me any sort of information like names of people who deal with animal assisted therapy? I'd be really thankfull for any sort of information!

As we talk about animals: here are two videos I found on youtube and I want to share
=> for cat lovers - talking cats: [link]
=> for dog lovers - talking dogs: [link]
I don't know if they are funny but I sort of liked them ^^

The Gargoyles Group Picture Project is still searching for artists who want to join.
For more information have a look at the updated rules: [link]
The birth and developement of the project can be read here: [link]

There are still two matters to decide:
Will we use gargoyles from the TV show, too?: [link]
How many characters is each fan allowed to add to the final picture?: [link]
The polls are open for 3 more weeks. Please vote and make your oppinion count!

That's all for now. Have a nice day!

Hmm, I'm not sure about articles but I know a guy who takes his guinea pigs to childrens hospitals because they're soft, like being handled and stroking them is theraputic. So the kids can have them on their lap and stroke them and they don't bite or run away.

Hmm, that's quite some theme. Here's a organisation. Maybe they can refer to some sources.

However a friend of mine had her dog trained for therapy.

For online research I'd recommend findarticles.com or ebscohost. Your library might help you there. They usually have university acess to article databases, and online magazines that you aren't able to acess as a normal person.

Out of couriosity I typed in animal therapy in findarticles.com and it found quite a few (1907) [link]

80% of these results won't be of any help I guess but hopefully you'll find one or two that you can use or do further research on. ^^ Good luck
