Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

And one of the most barefaced I met so far o.o

This person

used my Lugia-Lineart ( his: [link] , mine: [link] ), didn't give credit and even pretended to have drawn the piece himself in the comments below "his" picture. When I pointed out that the lineart was actually mine and asked to be given credit, this deviant's only reaction was to hide my comments and obviously block me from his account so I cannot write any comment or note regarding his unauthorized use of my artwork any more.
I reported the incident and hope that the DA staff will take his deviation down. Wish me luck ^^

EDIT:
His deviation was taken down be the DA staff. He re-uploaded the deviation ([link] emidiatly and still denies that I'm the original artist.
Here is his new description: "yes i know it is a coloring page so if you dare comment about it i will cuse you out in so many ways that i would make the geto look like super happy land. you got that for all of you in the back of the class."
In a comment on a reply he states: "oh i read them all (*the comments I wrote about this being my lineart*) and went though there art they did not have it and when i found it it was 3 years 2 years ago at some coloring page site i just spent 5 mins looking for that pic i don't know where the site went to i will try to find it but most likely i will not find it."

So he seriously says I DID NOT draw this lineart. This is getting more and more rediculous!

My picture was uploaded in 2005, so no problem proving anything about the time.

asked me for permission to put it on her Lugia-webpage [link] as a coloring page. So he might have gotten it from there. On this page the terms of use are clearly stated:

Even if he might have gotten it from somewhere else, the way he did react to my comment was absolutely disrespectful and childish. Him having not found this deviation in my gallery is almost a miracle as I put a direkt link in the comments he hid.

He hides every comment and blocks everyone from his account who points out that this lineart is originally by me.
So I have no way to contact him about this matter in any way. Please help and bring this journal to his attention.

I reported his deviation again.

Sadly, the ONLY way you're going to get your point across on his page or the 'art' is by making another account. But if you do that, DA will accuse you of being a troll and then you yourself will be banned. We just have to spread the news and get everyone to assist in gettin his stupid ass banned.
